About Us

COOP Kuruwita

The Multipurpose Co operative Society Ltd. (COOP Kuruwita) is located in Kuruwita, Sri Lanka, and was established in 1971. The Society was founded with the primary objective of improving the economic, social, and living standards of its members. Accordingly, all sectors operated by the Society function in compliance with cooperative principles, laws, and policies, following a member centered and responsible approach. Within this framework, the Society undertakes the responsibility of providing services that address the economic, social, and cultural needs of its members as well as the people of the surrounding community.

Cooperative history

Kuruwita Various Services Cooperative Society Limited was registered under R/473 as a primary cooperative on 26th February 1971 by merging 09 Kada Samithi in Udapattuwa, Kuruwita Korala.

Voluntary and open membership

Membership is open to all individuals without discrimination, allowing anyone who accepts the cooperative values to join freely.
